Help with Simple AVR
Find and select compatible Denon and Marantz receivers on your iPhone, then control them from Apple Watch.
Before you begin
Requirements
- An iPhone running iOS 17 or later
- A paired Apple Watch running watchOS 10 or later
- A compatible Denon or Marantz AV receiver
- The iPhone and receiver on the same local network
- Network Control enabled and set to Always On
Receiver not found
- Confirm the iPhone and receiver are connected to the same local network.
- On the receiver, open Setup → Network → Network Control and select Always On.
- In iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network, make sure Simple AVR is enabled.
- Return to Simple AVR and pull down on the receiver list to refresh.
- If discovery still fails, use the plus button to add the receiver by its IPv4 address.
Apple Watch not updating
- Confirm the Apple Watch is paired with the iPhone.
- Open Simple AVR on the iPhone and select the receiver you want to control.
- Open Simple AVR on the Apple Watch again.
- Confirm that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on the iPhone and Apple Watch.

Crown direction and sensitivity are available in iPhone Settings → Apps → Simple AVR.
